Matt Clark - Sports Program Director
Matt Clark was born and raised in Maquoketa, IA and was a graduate of Maquoketa High School in 2003. After high school graduation, Matt attended Iowa State University. While at ISU, he was a 2 year member of the ISU Sport Management Club. Matt also interned with the Iowa Sports Foundation (Iowa Games, Lighten-Up Iowa, Iowa Winter Games) in 2006 as a Sports Assistant and then interned with the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference as an Assistant Sports Information Director. Matt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from Iowa State University in May of 2007.
After a year of traveling, in the summer of 2008 Matt took a part-time position in the Sports Program Department helping out with the baseball, softball, and t-ball programs. In August of that same year, the Sports Program Director’s position had opened up as Jodi Coakley had taken a different position within the Maquoketa YMCA. Since Matt has accepted the position as the Director of Sports Programs, the YMCA has added 3 new programs to its yearly programming calendar. Flag Football was introduced in October of 2008 (100 participants) and soon after Youth Volleyball (65 participants) was introduced in November of that same year. A girls’ softball pitching clinic will also be added to the lineup as well as a few more special programs later on in the year. |
