2011 Swimming Lessons Registration
We offer something for everyone! Adult, parent/tot, pre-school and youth lessons are available in a group setting, semi-private or private lessons.
Parent/ Tot Swim Classes:
These classes are designed for kids 6 months to 3 years old.
This class permanently enforces the parent/child bond by allowing children to get introduced to the water with their parents in the pool. The goal of the class is to develop healthy aquatic habits to last a lifetime.
Pre-school Swim Classes:
Pike, Eel, Ray, Starfish
These classes are for children 3-5 years old. Some of the experiences will be taught with a floatation device. Water games are introduced, along with personal safety objectives.
Youth Swim Classes:
Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow, & Advanced Swim Skills
These classes are for children 6 years of age and older. In the earliest levels, children will be introduced to the water with floating and paddling techniques. In the advanced stages participants will master all strokes, as well as competitive skills and safety and rescue techniques.
Adult Swim Classes:
These classes are designed for adults ages 18 and older. This class is beneficial for non-swimmers and beginning swimmers. Water adjustment and various swim strokes will be introduced and developed.
Private & Semi-private Swim Lessons:
These classes are available for any age or skill level. Half hour private lessons are available for students working in a one-on-one or two-on-one setting with a private instructor. Private lessons are available in a package located at the Welcome Center.

Use the following information to determine which skill level class is appropriate for your child.
EEL
Intermediate-child can jump into the water and return to the side independently. Children will become more independent, learning to swim longer distances.
RAY/STARFISH
Advanced - child can swim the wideth and length of the pool on their front and back. At this level, new skills include rhymthmic breathing and diving.
POLLIWOG I
For children 6 and older who have not had swim lessoons before. Participants may befearful of water, cannot tread water, or float independently. You child will learn front, back, and side swimming in this beginner level.
GUPPY
Your child is able to swim one length of the pool comfortably on their front or back. At this level, they begin to swim longer distances and are introduced to rhythmic breathing and treading water.
MINNOW
Your child is able to swim two lengths of the pool using front crawl with good and consistent rotary breathing. The progression continues with breaststroke, sidestroke,backcrawl, and diving.
ADVANCED STROKE TECHNIQUES
This advanced class prepares your child for swim team and works on refining strokes, starts, turns, and techniques. Your child must be comfortable with all strokes.
